Grace Kelly had a square jawline, but the face overall was so pretty and feminine that you never call her manly. By the way, your haircolor is beautiful today!
I have a masculine face. People regularly assume I'm a man. When I was asking for help at a cosmetics store, I was asked what club I performed at. She thought I was a drag queen. When I'm recognized as a woman I'm assumed to be this strong, athletic and dominant woman. That just isn't me. I wished we lived in a world where people didn't judge and make assumptions based on looks.
Tilda Swinton and Kate Blanchett both have sharp, masculine leaning faces but also their softer coloring and ethereal, otherworldly essence balances it out. They were both cast as powerful, beautiful Queens who are mythical beings.
A lot of those celebrities have had surgery to strengthen the look of the jaw. Not to mention the cheek implants and or fillers. Most of the people we see on the red carpet have had cosmetic surgery now.

Love your content!❤️💖💋 My features are really feminine- and as I child I hated wearing girly clothes- but I really look better in them - I’ve embraced it these days. But with bright colours and sparkle!!💖
I like when guys have a fair amount of feminine features to their face (which guys would probably consider an insult). Like Cillian Murphy, Elijah Wood, Lee Jong-Suk. Also, strong contrast between skin, hair, and eyes.
I feel like makeup choices are very connected to personal color theory. Dua Lipa and Jennifer Connelly look better in “bold makeup” because the bold makeup in question is black or very dark eyeshadow and eyeliner, which is contrasted against their skin tone. I think the reason they tend to look good in dark colored makeup is because the dark contrast matches the contrast from their dark hair or dark eyes. The examples given of celebrities who looked bad in “bold looks only looked bad because the makeup is darker than any feature of their face or hair so there is no harmony. Some of them could probably pull off the same boldness of makeup but with different, brighter colors. Also, some makeup artists actually use bold eye makeup on people with more prominent noses to draw attention away from the nose.
The timing of this video is crazy. Just yesterday I was stopped on the street by someone telling me I look exactly like Dakota Fanning. So I guess I know my answer to this one 😂. I’ve been trying to figure out her Kibbe type and essence so I can help narrow down my own!
That's why knowing your Kibbie Type is so important! It can help you determine what styles of makeup and fashion make you shine. Thank you for this video! It was really informational!
I love playing into my more masculine or feminine features depending on my mood! I have what I would describe as an androgynous face naturally with a mix of both masculine and feminine features. I have recently gone back to shaving my head (because hair annoys me lol) and I love being able to rock that one day with intense high contrast makeup, then throw on a long wig and do soft glam the next. It’s really freeing to just kinda ignore the gender expectations placed on me as a cis woman, and just do whatever I feel like day to day.
I wish beauty influencers kept the faces of celebrities who have visible aesthetic treatments like fillers, surgery done away from videos where we are supposed to analyze natural features 🤔
Actually I feel like features can be analysed whether or not they're natural. We're just looking at multiple pictures. Whether they've been altered or not doesn't affect the analysis.
@ in a way yes, but I still think that artificially altered features should not be analyzed nor compared with natural faces. It just does not feel right.
I've always wanted to look "handsome" but my face has an overall soft impression. I didn't look good every time I tried to look masculine and my friends always said "it doesn't harmonize with your energy" and explained I was a very feminine person inside out that I had to pursue that direction if I wanted to look good. When I watched your video explaining why Cara Delevingne (and other celebrities) having feminine features makes them look beautiful doing androgynous looks, I was mind blown! I have so much insecurity about my face, but I'm trying to figure out how I can do my makeup/styling so I can present myself who I am through fashion! Thank you Jenn ♥️ (Sorry about my English, I hope it made sense)

This topic has been examined and there’s actually a typing system called Kibbe. It describes different body types including facial features each body type possesses which are described as ying and yang (masculine and feminine).
Hi, this video is so helpful, i’m going to apply all this tips. On the other hand, I would really like to see a video showing us how to identify if we have a long or a short face, not about the impression what the actual size
As someone with a lot of masculine lines in my face, the makeup tip was so helpful! I look good with smokey makeup, but there’s a line where it starts to look theatrical if the smokiness is blended up too high close to the eyebrow
Idk where i lean in the masc. Vs fem features but i know tiny/dainty jewelry looks too small and delicate for me (even thought i am petite) i can work with small pieces but anything to small or delicate looks off. Where as sharper medium sized pieces look more harmonious to my eyes lol
Beauty industries often emphasize different products for enhancing "masculine" or "feminine" features. For example, makeup techniques or grooming can highlight or downplay certain facial traits to align with desired looks or societal norms.
I used the perceive this kind of “masculineness” in my features. It always came out with certain hairstyles and I always did my hair to make myself look as feminine as possible. When I was getting into style theory and found out what yang was I said “omg that’s me!” And now I love leaning into my yang
I think Kibbe method helps, they’re focused on unique traits and silhouette and bone structure, also facial, so you can create and find the best balance for yourself & feel great
Yin ad yang... this is very well described all over the internet right now through kibbe, kitchener, truth is beauty, etc. So this is not a new concept if anyone is further interested you can look up more to find out more details.
i have deep set eye, not as deep as others but deep nonetheless. And I get my eyebrows waxed to a medium thickness not thin or thick just to create a softer look to my face. it adds and doesn't take away.
I'm starting to get an idea of why certain things look better on me than others. There are so many factors, but I find I can lean to more masculine styles if they're boyish, and more feminine styles if they're girlish, as opposed to styles that are more associated with being mature. I think the youthful factor is more important than the masculinity or femininity for me. If I wear dresses, they're always better if they contain a striking, structural element on an otherwise feminine style, like a puffed or princess sleeves on a dress or a square-cut neckline and fitted upper body in a more sturdy fabric (Elizabethan-inspired), or a fitted, A-line, wool, double-breasted coat with a martingale in back and brass buttons. On the other hand, if I go more masculine, it's better if it's a tomboy style. I look weird in traditional-style suit tailoring like Cate Blanchett wears, and look like I'm playing dress-up in more "womanly" styles of dresses. I wonder if that needs to change when I get older. Like, will youthful styles still be best on me when I'm 60? I'm 40 now, but still get carded for alcohol, and my hair is still its original red with no white hairs yet. What happens if my hair turns white? Will I have to change to wearing pantsuits, or will my face structure still be about the same and so youthful style will still look best? It's too bad it takes most of people's youth to even figure out what looks good on them.
Personally I'm probably somewhere in the category with Dua Lipa and the like, not surprising that most of my wardrobe is "edgy" and to some extent more masculine outfits. Also as a separate topic I love love love your videos on what hairstyles suit what given facial traits. Personally I rock a high volume pixie cut that still shows off my eyebrow shape well enough, and yeah so many reasons you give about videos to do with volume bangs and pixie cuts check out for my face. You are very good at your job!
Can you plllleeeaasaass do a style essences of men because it's not talked about enough I'm theatrical romantic in kibby and have romantic essence and I'm a guy and i there's not a lot of stuff for us men would love for you to do a video
Super interesting as always! So i have prominent eyebrows, deepset eyes and a big nose - which are masculine features, i guess? But then i also have an oval face with delicate (though well-defined) cheekbones, chin and jawline. My eyes are also round, slightly upturned and on the bigger side (though deepset). And my lips are neither full or narrow. I suppose those are feminine features? Does that mean i have classic essence?
If that's you in your pfp, you are very beautiful! Just letting you know that good facial harmony matters more than facial features alone, and you have both :)
I'm an ingenue! I look good in the coquette aesthetic. I'm youthful, and it's not obvious I'm 32. I can wear some soft natural pieces, but I'm probably too tiny to be that type. Farmcore coquette is my vibe, but I play with morute or gothy girly looks. I'm actually a cat girl. I prefer masculine men that are either stocky or muscular. My husband is actually 6'4." He doesn't have extreme angularity, but he's never been "pretty," lol. I'm guessing he'd be some kind of natural if Kibbe did males. I wish there was more typology for men. Anyway, couples often balance out whatever yin yang they have. I'm lukewarm and soft. He's warm and hard.
Beauty standards are so subjective in different countries. I have soft features and when I was in Japan, people thought I was an actress, hahahja, which I found funny because In western countries, I would not be as striking as someone with a masculine features.
I absolutely look the best in Margiela / Issey type of clothes and long black silhouettes… and also heeled long boots and short skirts with a blazer. For example. I’m an hourglass but sharp bones, but only 166 cm. What Kibbe type do you think I might be? I have rather angular but narrow bone structure on my face. Softer blonde hair, dark blue eyes. Styling tips and advice is welcome as I’m so curious!
Does having a bigger nose automatically make your face masculine? Because I have a bigger nose but I feel as if my face leans more feminine. Despite me having a longer face and larger nose, I have round eyes that are not deep set fuller lips q smaller jaw line and over all a smaller face. I often get really confused because on paper I feel like a large nose and longer face would make me more masculine but whenever I do masculine geared makeup it looks very out of place.
I have a similar face shape and most of the comments about my appearance are about being cute and spunky looking way younger than I actually am even though I'm 5’9” I think the shape of the facial traits matters more than the size and since most of them are rounded even them being large makes the face looks balanced and rounded and plumpnes are generally seem as youthful traits
Thank you for a superinteressting video, I would like much more of this topic😍🤩🙏 I have a mix of both female and manly features, both in my face and in my body. I think I'm a "soft dramatic", cause I can wear a lot of colours and big patterns without looking dressed out. Unfortunatly my eyes sits a bit to close and looks a bit deep, so I cant put too much eyeshadow. My jawline is also quite square. Thank god my lips are quite full, so I often focus on them, I look best in strong pink colours, like fuxia or cold reds. I dressed out like a man on Halloween once and looked really good, but in real life I've never found a suit that fits me. My boobs are too big I guess😆
I wish people didn't buy into the extent of this masculine and feminine thing. Masculine men are gentle, feminine women are strong. If you're female and have a "square jaw" think of what the men in her family have and vice versa.
What really throws me off kilger is my nose. The bridge is narrow and it slightly upturned but tip is bulbous and wide. Like overall shapes are not angular or big but its also the kind of nose youll never see on screen presented as feminine.
I have more pronounced eyebrows and more deep set, bigger eyes, a straight slightly longer nose but smaller lips, more my upper lip is slim with a heavier bottom lip. I literally got mistaken for a guy as a kid this still hurts my ego haha. I don't even know what my face shape is. My forehead is big, and my chin is slightly slimmer than my forehead but it's also a bit round and square but my face is too long to be a square but my jaw is not wide enough to be a rectangle and my cheekbones are pretty pronounced giving me a slim face look. I literally don't look good with any hair style. My issue is that I have to tie my hair back for work. I currently have curtain bangs to hide my big forehead but they also make my face even slimmer. And bangs make my chin wider and rounder. Its so weird 😩
How does this square with those of us with blunt wide features? I don't have any sharp features, but not much about my bone structure is round. I'm closer to a soft natural, especially in the face and I find it really frustrating trying to balance the natural and romantic components in my makeup.
@YumeraChauque 😆 good timing! I just came to that conclusion yesterday. Still narrowing down my essences though. Very hard to be objective about oneself
Unfortunately, I’m female and I have soft round short features but I don’t look feminine. I look like guy, like if I put my hair half up I look like a Chinese guy from those period movies (before all the actors were more feminine looking).
Eva Mendes does NOT have a masculine face. Beauty is subjective. Her features work well together. She is more of a siren beauty than an angelic beauty but still very feminine. Stronger features does not make one’s face less feminine than a woman with softer rounder features sorry.
I can't speak from a trans perspective, but I have found Jenn's videos really enlightening in how overcompensating for features you don't like (whether you want to look more masculine or feminine) often has the opposite effect. It's really changed how I approach my make up!
I don’t conform to western beauty norms nor two gender ideology rooted in patriarchy and religious brainwash compared to human history and evolution, is quite new when you look at indigenous peoples and cultures, my own included, across the world that didn’t adhere to such nonsense pre colonial times.

You are balanced, but not in a classic way.
I think i have a pretty feminine face i have alot of roundness and my jawline makes a V shape i have a pointy smal chin
You do have pretty soft, feminine features.
My t zone is pretty manly then 😅
Eva Mendes does NOT have a masculine face. Beauty is subjective. Her features work well together. She is more of a siren beauty than an angelic beauty but still very feminine. Stronger features does not make one’s face less feminine than a woman with softer rounder features sorry.
Seems like you miss the point of this video.
Ignorange on the highest level, did you consider using logic?
@YumeraChauque don’t care
how can a girl have a masculine face🤔
It happens.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
As a trans woman this is very helpful to understsnd what makes my face look masculine and how to make it more feminine.
😍💖🙆
Such a great video for transwomen omg, I always get clocked when I overdo the eyeshadow 🤣
I can't speak from a trans perspective, but I have found Jenn's videos really enlightening in how overcompensating for features you don't like (whether you want to look more masculine or feminine) often has the opposite effect. It's really changed how I approach my make up!
trust me bro it's not the eyeshadow🤣
Ffs 🙄
Can someone please just tell me what kind of face do I have🥲it’s just so confusing for me..
An animated
I don’t conform to western beauty norms nor two gender ideology rooted in patriarchy and religious brainwash compared to human history and evolution, is quite new when you look at indigenous peoples and cultures, my own included, across the world that didn’t adhere to such nonsense pre colonial times.
I think saying facial gender doesn't make sense if we are only talking about the word feminine or masculine tho!
Other than that nice video :)
I don't know if I have a Feminine face or Masculine, but i enjoyed watching this. Thank you & GOD Bless! 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Who freakin' cares! 😴
Then why are you here?
Haters alert
Lol wrong video for you
Like asking who cares flat head or phillips.
Typical lost Boomer
Personally I'm probably somewhere in the category with Dua Lipa and the like, not surprising that most of my wardrobe is "edgy" and to some extent more masculine outfits.
Also as a separate topic I love love love your videos on what hairstyles suit what given facial traits. Personally I rock a high volume pixie cut that still shows off my eyebrow shape well enough, and yeah so many reasons you give about videos to do with volume bangs and pixie cuts check out for my face. You are very good at your job!
